How to Install SQL Server 2012 and 2008

There are following steps that are used for installation of SQL server 2012 and 2008. There is a little bit difference between these two versions that are used for make databases and many other works. SQL server 2012 requires internet connection for downloading some files from server while 2008 does not require any internet connection. We can install 2008 without internet connection. So there are steps that are used for installation.

1.      1. Double click on the setup of server and you will get the following window

This demands of you that what type of planning you want to do before installation. But we have not any concern with this tab. We just go towards Installation tab.

1.      2. Installation Tab

Here we will go towards Installation tab. And we will select the New installation or add features to an existing installation.

1.      3. Select New Installation:

Here it will require that either you want to install it through product key or you want a free edition. I just select the specify a free edition because if I select the product key option than after a limit of time it will consider that you are using this server for official use. So to pretend yourself as a student we select Specify a free edition. And click Next button.

4   4. Specify a free edition:

It will require from you that either you have accepted the terms and condition of this server or not. If you accept or check the condition then the ‘Next’ button will be enabled. Otherwise, it will not enable. Click Next button

1.      5. Setup Support Files

          Simply, click the Install button.

   

After completion of this installation the new window will be open.

1    6. Setup Rules of SQL SERVER

   

    Simply click Next Button

     Simply click next button

           8. Feature Selection

Select all these features for installation of server.

Simply click the Next button.

  

9.      Installation Rules

Simply click next button.

           10.      Instance Configuration 

This configuration demands of you that which type of name instance, you want to choose. It should remain Default instance MSSQLSERVER as it is. Click Next button.

       11.      Disk Space Requirement

Disk space requirement tells us that how much space a server will use. Just click next button

      

      12.      Server Configuration

In this you have to change the Account Names. You have to select the first account name of giving list. That is ‘NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK’. 

  And click next button.

       13.      Database Engine Configuration

Here it will require from you a user. Through this user the server will access your system. 

   

   I just click the ‘Add Current User’ and click the next button

          

        14.      Analysis Service Configuration

Here you have to just click the Add current user. 

And click the Next Button.

      15.      Reporting Services Configuration 

Click next Button.

       16.      Error Reporting

Don’t check the windows features. Click Next button.

       17.      Installation Configuration Rules

Click the next button.

       18.      Ready to Install.

In this way you can install SQL Server
